Trust me on this one…

Yesterday I did a reading for a woman and a dog. The dog wasn’t actually her dog but her neighbor’s and was living outside next door. I could see that she was dirty and never got off her chain. As you can imagine, the woman was a bit distraught over the fact that the guy who owned this dog had very little contact with her and just left her tied up outside all day and night. (Many animal loving humans tend to feel this is a wrong approach to having a pet…I agree, but that’s not what this is about.) In my study and practice of Animal Communication, I’ve learned to make the ‘human’ aspect of my brain take a seat during a reading. It’s the hardest part of what I do. But, I need to step back, TRUST, and let the animal do the talking. I have to try very hard NOT to assume what the animal is feeling, but completely TRUST the intuitive ‘hits’ I’m getting from the animal. In this case, most of us would assume this dog was frightened and abused, but when I connected with her energy I saw there was no fear, no sadness, just happy optimism and a longing to play.
After the reading, I jumped on a quick webinar with a bunch of fellow Animal Communicators. The subject of the call was, of course, Trust. And it really made me think about how much we don’t usually trust our intuition, our inner knowing, our gut. How many times have you gotten a ‘hit’ about something and then dismissed it? Because of course, that thought that just seemingly arbitrarily jumped in to your head couldn’t possibly mean anything because it goes against what we think as humans. So what we do when we get those hits, those thoughts, is we either dismiss them or we try to rationalize them.
In the work I do, those ‘hits’ mean everything. And I’ve learned to trust them in all aspects of my life….most of the time. Last Saturday I was outside watching football with my husband and a good friend. I also had a load of laundry going upstairs. All of a sudden I got a ‘hit’ of a picture of the washing machine. It was that simple, just the washing machine. While I usually act on my ‘hits,’ this time I didn’t. I went up later and found the washing machine was unbalanced and had ‘walked’ itself out of place by like three feet. I had to get my husband to help me move it back. Now, this wasn’t any big deal, just Universe trying to help me out, but if I had trusted my intuition like I usually do, we wouldn’t have had to man handle the machine back in to place. So my question to you today is, what aren’t you trusting? And what are you missing by not? Pay attention to those ‘hits.’
Trust me on this…
