Ready? Let’s do this.

If you’ve been reading me over the past several months you’ll know that I was diagnosed with an oh-so-tiny bit of b.c. (I don’t even like typing the words…lol) at the end of last year. You’ll also know that I had to do 12 rounds of chemo from February through April then daily radiation treatments after that. As you read this…if you’re reading it on Monday, June 22, 2020…I have three radiation treatments left and I’m DONE. (Okay, I’m not ‘done-done’. I’m only ‘mostly done,’ but what’s left is easy and only takes place every three weeks.) Since last November I’ve been in some sort of doctor’s office every week, and for the past four weeks every day. Starting this Thursday, I will have no place I have to be. I’m not sure how many can imagine the freedom I feel just saying those words.

Now, although you really try to continue to live your life as normal as possible during these kinds of things…and for the most part you totally can…there are just some things you can’t fit in to your schedule. There are just some things that have to take a back seat. For example, I’m in the middle of a 2+ year Mediumship Coaching and Mentoring program. I was able to keep up with most of it, but it got a bit challenging during the end of those chemo treatments. (Full disclosure, staying awake in general was challenging. lol!) But within a week or so after those ended, I was back at it, learning and growing with fellow Mediums and (hopefully) becoming more and more of service to them and Spirit.

A few years ago I spent a week up at the Omega Institute in NY being certified by Dr. Brian Weiss in Past Life Regression Therapy. I had every intention of adding that to my list of services I offer clients. But again, life kind of got in the way. As I write this, the manual for that training is on my desk and this Thursday, when I realize there’s an extra hour and a half no longer claimed by something else, I’m going to review it and start offering it to my clients as well.

To say I’ve learned a ton from my diagnosis and all that has gone with it would be an understatement. I’ve learned so much about myself, about those around me, about life in general. It comes down to this. You know all those memes and posts you see on IG and FB? The things you’ve been hearing your whole life? Turns out they’re true…

  • Life really is short. Buy the shoes, eat the cake, etc.
  • Enjoy the journey.
  • Find joy in every day.
  • Be kind.
  • It’s okay to put yourself first sometimes.
  • It’s okay to feel sorry for yourself sometimes (just get over it as soon as possible).
  • Appreciate what you’ve got.
  • Celebrate life.
  • Love people. Even the ones who make it hard.
  • Spend as much time in nature and with animals.
  • Get some sun.

So, are you ready? Let’s do this!

Live and Learn with love.
