I’ve had a tough couple of weeks. The thing is, I’m well aware that I’m the cause of the toughness. Lately, I’ve let the actions of others affect me negatively. I’ve let the actions of others keep me up at night. But here’s the thing. It’s not because I’m all like, ‘Waaaa! They were mean to me!’ (Okay, full disclosure, it’s a little like that…) But it’s more like ‘Wow, if they would just listen to me I could help them.’ And I’ve found myself staying up all night trying to figure out a way to help them understand that they’re kind of going about it the wrong way. But here’s the other thing….
It’s not my job to do that.
And, when I try, there’s that ego thing rearing it’s sometimes ugly head. In other words, who am I to interrupt their journey? I’ve talked about this before, how when we step in to this type of work…this energy work…it brings up a whole lot of stuff for us. So we as practitioners absolutely HAVE to do our own work. I spend time with my Reiki Master every month in an attempt to keep things running smoothly and keep my head as clear as possible to do the work I do. Now, I’ve been doing this work for about 5 years. So naturally, I’m going to be a bit further ahead in my ‘personal work’ than some but I’m also a bit further behind than others. And I have to let that be okay.
When you walk in to the home of people like us (ya know, ‘woo-woo’ people…LOL!) you bet your butt you’re going to find card decks for everything from animal wisdom, to angel wisdom, to Reiki wisdom, and so on. We use these cards not as a crutch, but as a way to open up and find a thought about a situation that we haven’t been able to grasp yet. OR to give us an idea about what to write in a blog…
