I’m currently staying in a gorgeous house in Southwest Florida. Like many houses down here, the floors are all tile. There are a few rugs thrown around here and there, but for the most part, the floors are a beautiful Travertine tile. Which is great, because my dog Gigi happens to be with me. So, you know, very easy hair clean up. The problem is, Gigi hates tile. For some reason, she’s afraid to walk on it. Is it the coldness? Is it the sound of her nails clicking on it? I don’t know, but she’s not comfortable at all walking on the floors here. Obviously a problem. So throughout this beautiful home I have beach towels strategically placed so she can walk from one to another until she gets to a rug or her dog bed. I’ll be honest, it’s getting old.
As an Animal Intuitive, I know it’s not about the floor being cold or the nails clicking, but instead is somehow a lesson for me. So I’ve been pondering. (Yes, I just said pondering…) Then, at some point yesterday, I noticed Gigi walk into the house, through the kitchen, to the living room and to the sofa without hesitating, without skulking, without cringing, without hopping from towel to towel. And I had my ‘A-ha’ moment. She just walked through the house like a regular dog would…or like she would if she were walking on carpet. And it dawned on me that she had just forgotten to look down. She had forgotten to notice where she was. In other words, she had gotten out of her head.
I’ve written about this before…getting out of our heads, not paying so much attention to where we are (if where we are isn’t where we want to be), looking towards where we want to go, not sweating the small stuff, and for goodness sake, not analyzing the crap out of every single decision. And I realize, for the past week or so, I’ve been guilty about doing just that. How is this going to work? How am I going to get that done? Should I book that flight? Is this something we want to do? Do we really want to go there? Can I take the time off? Instead of looking up, my head has been stuck focusing on a beautiful, but cold and clicky tile.
So, for the rest of this visit, instead of hopping from worry to worry in order to get to something comfortable…Gigi and I
Just aren’t going to look down.
In Munay…
