Get out of the way, trust, and focus…it’ll be better than you could imagine.

As some of you know, the hubby and I lost our Pointer, Gibbs, to cancer almost exactly a year ago. We still have our girl Gigi and for awhile we were telling ourselves that we were just going to stick to one dog. That didn’t last very long. We’re now starting our search for another Pointer. We really love the breed, they’re just amazing dogs. I volunteer with the Southeastern German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue organization (http://www.segsprescue.org/). I help them transport dogs and do home visits for potential adoptees. So, of course, we’ve been watching their site looking for a rescue that feels like a good match to us and Gigi. The other day the hubby comes home and says he thinks he’s found one. We discuss it and even though I have a few reservations, I tell him to go ahead and email the foster Mom and get the ball rolling.
You may have seen my post on my FB Business page (https://www.facebook.com/GeriAKarabin) where I mentioned this. I was kind of over thinking the whole process and decided to pull an Animal card to see what God/Spirit/Universe had to say about it. And, of course, what card did I pull?
Again, you can’t make this stuff up. After pulling the card, I figured, ‘Well, Universe is kind of speaking, so let’s just see how this plays out.’ That night as we sat watching television, we received an email from the foster Mom saying that because we have a cat, she didn’t feel like it was a good match because this particular dog was very ‘prey driven’ and she felt he really might hurt our cat. And while we clearly both agree that that can’t happen, we were both pretty disappointed.
As I was lying in bed last night feeling kind of pissy about the fact that the Universe gave me a pretty clear sign and then didn’t deliver, I started thinking about something I keep telling my clients. How the Universe is this amazingly powerful thing and how if you let it, It will provide what it is you want in a better way than you could EVER imagine. I’ve written about this before. And, that means that we weren’t a match with that dog because someone else REALLY was. And that that dog was someone else’s ‘better than they could imagine.’
So, I’ve decided to do what I’m always preaching to my clients. Get out of the way and let the Universe provide, trust the card, and instead of focusing on the ‘how’ this is all going to workout, I’m just going to focus on the ‘what’ and the ‘why.’ My guess is…
Our ‘better than we could imagine’ pup is on its way as we speak.
