Bury your head in the sand. Go ahead. It’s okay…

There’s an old myth about the Ostrich and how she buries her head in the sand when she’s afraid, or sees a predator. The belief is that Ostrich feels, ‘if I can’t see it, it’s not really happening.’ The truth is, Ostrich doesn’t do that. I mean, seriously, she’d die of asphyxiation…. (She does use her beak to dig holes for her eggs and roots around for food, so it may look at times like she’s burying her head, but she’s not…) Anyway. Those of you who know me know that I RARELY watch the news. And, when cruising Facebook, I do it with one eye closed. You see, I don’t want to be exposed to all the bad stuff out there. From a Law of Attraction standpoint, I just don’t want it in my vibration. Think about how you feel as soon as you hear horrible news. You feel horrible, right? I don’t want to feel horrible. And here’s the thing to think about.
When we feel horrible, we have nothing positive to give anyone else.
So, some accuse me of burying my head in the sand. It’s true. If I don’t see all the ugliness out there in the world, I have a lot more room available for all the goodness. By burying my head in the sand, by not watching all the bad stuff, I’m able to keep my vibration up and concentrate on the good stuff. But, that doesn’t mean I ignore anyone who needs my compassion. As I said above, when I cruise FB, I do it with one eye closed. So I see a post simply saying ‘Prayers for ______.’ Well, in this day and age, that’s enough to let me know something bad happened at __________. So what do I do? I send loving, heartfelt compassion to _________ without blaming anyone, without naming anything, and without feeling all the horribleness around ___________. By not diving in and digging for more information, I’m able to send any and all involved the truest form of healing I can. And, it comes from the highest vibration I can muster, one that isn’t tainted with the details.
In my opinion, this is one of the challenges in this world. There are so many people focusing on the negative and feeding that fire. What happened? How did it happen? Who is ultimately to blame? How can we punish them? But, what if we turned those questions around and asked, How can I help? What can I do? What do they need? And focused on sending healing love, compassion, and prayers?
Yes, I bury my head in the sand.
Maybe you should too…
